Meet The Directors

Aubrey Denton

Owner and Director

Aubrey Denton is a voice teacher and children’s music theater director who has been teaching in both private and group settings for almost 15 years. She is the director of Curtain Call, a children’ music theater ensemble in Mesa Arizona, and a co-director of Mesa Community College’s summer music theater workshop, Magic Music Kidz. In addition to studying music at Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Northern Arizona University, Aubrey has pursued the study of music from a lens of wellness and spirituality, recently completing training as a sound healer in Sedona, Arizona. Aubrey regularly participates in local music theater productions and community music events as both a director and performer, and has won scholarship, community, and competitive vocal awards over the years. Her most recent music directing credits have been Seussical Kids and Finding Nemo Kids at Highland Arts Elementary. The heart of her work is the privilege of helping women and youth find joy and empowerment in the expression of their own authentic voice.

Kimberly Martineau

Choreographer 

Kim has served on the production team for numerous elementary school, junior high, high school, and community theater shows over the past decade, serving as director, assistant director, choreographer, costume designer, props master, and producer. Some of her favorite previous shows include Seussical Kids (Director), Lion King Jr (Assistant Director & Choreographer), SpongeBob the Musical Youth Edition (Assistant Director & Choreographer), Newsies Jr (Choreographer), and Finding Nemo Kids (Choreographer) (Highland Arts). Kim has also served as President of the Highland Performing Arts Booster, Poston Theater Booster, Poston Music Booster, and Toro Theater Company Parent Booster. She has a Master's of Public Administration from ASU and moonlights as a substitute teacher for Mesa Public Schools.

Kailei Pew

Music Director 

Kailei is passionate about helping kids find their voice, whether that be musically or through authentic self expression. A children’s book author by day, she loves spending her free time as connected to music and theater as possible. Kailei holds a BA in Human and Childhood Development from Arizona State University where she also studied music therapy and voice under Marcy McKee.

Kailei is currently serving as the President of the Highland Performing Arts Booster Organization. She most recently music directed Lion King Jr. and 101 Dalmatians Kids at Highland Arts.

Kailei believes that music helps kids connect, find their true voice, and build confidence. She is thrilled to be joining curtain call and looks forward to seeing these kids shine on stage.
